STATE CHECKLIST

Before your appointment.

New Mexico’s instruction permit is available at 15 when the applicant is enrolled in or has completed an approved driver-education course with DWI content.

The permit holder must drive with a licensed adult 21 or older who has at least three years of licensing.

Before a provisional license, the teen must hold the permit six months and complete 50 supervised hours, including 10 at night.
