ABOUT ACE THE DMV

Learn the reason.
Remember the rule.

Ace the DMV is an independent passenger-car permit study platform. We pair short practice sessions with explanations and links to official state resources.

What is available

Every state has a resource hub and a small set of state-focused questions. A shared core bank covers general driving safety. Diagnostic practice, topic practice, exam-style sessions, flashcards, and mistake review use that combined bank. The question counts are shown on each state page.

How content is made

Questions and explanations are originally written, with AI assistance, using official agency resources as references. They are not copied official test items. Source links appear with explanations so you can inspect the underlying guidance. This initial edition has not received a comprehensive review by licensed driving instructors.

A “source check” date records the research date. It does not certify that every rule was independently audited or that a linked handbook is the latest edition. Agency publications and applicable law take precedence. Check age, license-class, and local exceptions with the agency.

What a score can tell you

Practice accuracy is the share of submitted answers that were correct. Topic mastery uses your most recent answer to each question; coverage is the share of the available bank you have attempted. A missed question remains in your mistake bank until your latest answer is correct.

No score here is a validated prediction of your exam result. Familiar questions can inflate scores. Read the complete handbook and practice applying the rules to unfamiliar situations.

Exam-style practice

These sessions withhold feedback until the end and sample the available bank. They do not reproduce a state’s official exam or all of its special section-passing rules. When official format details are available, the state hub shows them separately with a source.

Corrections and updates

Each explanation includes its official source. If you find a conflict, follow the official guidance and pause using that question. This preview needs a public correction contact and an ongoing editorial review process before a public launch.
