STATE CHECKLIST

Before your appointment.

New Hampshire does not issue permits to learn to drive.

A person at least 15½ without a license may practice when accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible licensed adult age 25 or older.

The manual still requires applicants to master signs, rules, and safe driving for the operator-license tests.

Permit eligibility, documents, fees, and appointment details can change. Confirm those details with New Hampshire Department of Safety Division of Motor Vehicles before you go.
