STATE CHECKLIST

Before your appointment.

A teen learner license generally requires six months before the first-year restricted stage; track the date carefully.

Montana’s GDL certification calls for 50 supervised hours, including 10 at night, before advancing.

During the learner phase, practice with the required parent or guardian supervision and keep every occupant buckled.

Permit eligibility, documents, fees, and appointment details can change. Confirm those details with Montana Department of Justice Motor Vehicle Division before you go.
