Michigan teens under 18 complete driver education in two segments and use a Level 1 learner’s license under GDL.
A Level 1 learner may drive with a parent, guardian, or designated adult age 21 or older who has a valid license.
Before the skills test, Michigan requires at least 50 supervised hours including 10 at night and a Level 1 license held at least six months.
